Till the 30th of June, in the gallery of the Omani Society for Fine Arts in Salalah, where also the Photographic Society is based, different photographic themes captured by 34 Omani photographers are on display. During the inauguration on the 19th of June adults who attended a workshop on basic photography received their diplomas.
For the fifth year in a row the exhibition ‘Glowing Spectra ’ shows the visitors the artistic trends in the photographic art of the participants. In the Omani scenery, in the portraits, in the creative and in the conceptual photographs the play with forms and light astonish. In some works the brilliance catches my eye, invited me to look closer. At that moment my communication with the work started.
Discussions about photographic art are still going on. In the catalog of the exhibition Mr. Ahmed Abdullah Al Busaidi, Acting Director of the Photographic Society, makes it very clear: ‘Glowing Spectra speaks to the soul and the eyes with the beauty it holds.’
The Photographic Society Profile in a nutshell:
