The International Exhibition Center has opened the doors for the 19th Muscat International Bookfair. In four halls, 570 publishers from 25 Arab and foreign countries participate in the fair. Till the 8th of March, my book: “Treasure Chest, Salalah-Dhofar” in Arabic/English is on display at the stand of the “Family bookshop.” This book, with lots of photographs, tells about the culture, the traditions, the history of Dhofar, in the southern part of the Sultanate bordering with Yemen and with the desert, the Empty Quarter, on his territory.
Some teasers:
Did you know that the Khareef, the south west monsoon, is linked with the National Security, with the Royal Navy of Oman?
Why do Scientists call the desert, the Empty Quarter, the lively desert?
Why was Sumhuram, the ancient port city in the east of Salalah, where the frankincense trade was at his highest point 3000 BC, never taken by Islamic people?
