For three months, Salalah, Dhofar, has his own ‘Jurassic park’ situated in A’ Sa’ adah nearby the Dhofar Governorate and the Royal Oman Police (ROP). By walking through the park, sensors activate the movements and the sounds. And then suddenly, nearby the prehistoric creatures, children are being pulled along in rickshaws by walking robots. It brings you back to the age we are living in. In surrounding tents local Omani products as dates, halwa and perfumes based on frankincense are offered. Also young entrepreneurs showcase proudly their ideas and products they have in offer. This new amusement park is part of the Salalah Tourism Festival that rolls further on till September. The amusement park focuses on families with children and youngsters.
Luminence Modern World, 23 year old student Mohammed Nasser, who still study for engineer at the Nizwa College of Technology has set up his own business three months ago. All his products from lighting stones till lighting paint and lighting stickers are imported from a company from Ukraine with whom he has an exclusive contract for Oman.
A competition between the Colleges of Technology in Oman was the reason for 17 students of Muscat to share and realize their ideas. Soon “Ghamer , an outbreak in tourism” was born. An application on tourism in Oman and two solar backpacks were made. After the competition the company will become a fact. From that moment orders can be placed.
