18th November is the official 44th anniversary of the National Day in Oman. Still, new projects in honor of Sultan Qaboos, the architect of the modernization are launched. Still people are gathering and honoring this day.
Yesterday, in Salalah-Dhofar, in the Chamber of Commerce, five women launched their ‘Thank you Society’ project, a gift to Sultan Qaboos for his reform programs still in progress. The project organized by ‘Muna Salim al Almashani’ is unique for Oman. The five women, all volunteers, will coordinate the needs and demands of the local society. Together they will look for solutions. This can be: creating awareness about environmental issues, connecting with local governments or organizing workshops and trainings, guiding people to establish their dreams such as having their own SME, small and medium sized enterprises. The event was already attended by several directors and managers of Ministries, governmental and non-governmental organisations such as the Ministry of Manpower, the Chamber of Commerce, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, the Media….. They all honored the project and promised to support. During the Salalah Tourism Festival 2015 the results of the ‘Thank You Society’ will be put on display. The choice to start this project in Dhofar is clear, the current leader, Sultan Qaboos was born here.
Yesterday, in Taqah in the east of Salalah, in the Omani Women Association, a ‘Thank You Ceremony’ for the National Day was organized for the public with traditional dance, music and food.
