Khareef: Facing the same (part 7)

Yesterday, the ‘10th Gulf Forum for the Blind’ opened at the auditorium of the Directorate General for Heritage and Culture in Salalah-Dhofar. The five-day forum is organised by Al Noor Association for the Blind’s branch in Dhofar Governorate under the auspices of Sayyid Mohammed bin Sultan al Busaidy, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar. Al Noor Association for the Blind as NGO ( non-governmental association) registered by the Ministry of Social Development in 1997, started in Muscat. In Salalah, the Association was established in 2001.

During the forum the blind will be advised on how to become self-reliant and the role of modern technology in social and professional life will be explained. In the meanwhile the forum provides an ideal opportunity to share knowledge and experiences among the blind from the GCC countries. Experiences of individuals and Al Noor Association branches in the Sultanate as well as the GCC participating associations, besides those in Iraq and Yemen will be shared during lectures, seminars and panel discussions.
