Khareef: A call for Co-operating, Coexistence and Understanding (part 8)

Yesterday, at the Theatre of the Directorate General of Heritage and Culture at the Dhofar Governorate, the Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs, under the auspices of Sheikh Khalid bin Omar al-Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Salmi, Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs, Sayyid Mohammad bin Sultan al-Busaidi, Minister of State and Governor of Dhofar and a number of local officials, launched an event with the title: ‘Islam…Co-operating, Coexistence and Understanding.’

In his speech, Dr. Mohammed bin Said al-Ma’amari, Scientific Advisor of the Minister of Endowment and Religious Affairs pointed out that the Ministry of Endowment and Religious Affairs, as it is the case with other state organizations and Omanis, is interested in promoting tolerance stemming from the civilized responsibility.

He added that the event is an affirmation of the Ministry’s approach in organizing activities and programs that aim at enhancing values and the identity, as well as calling for cooperation, coexistence and understanding. The event includes a four day exhibition at the Directorate General of Heritage and Culture in Dhofar on Islamic principles, coexistence in Oman and the vision of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos Bin Said. ‘Islam…Co-operating, Coexistence and Understanding.’’ aims at spreading the teachings of Islam and highlighting its principles and values. The event also aims at enhancing communication among cultures and building bridges of communication.
