Amna Ba Omar loves photography. As a make-up artist for weddings she likes to photograph faces. To express more the story she wants to tell with her portraits, she uses light room photoshop number four. Yesterday in the Photography Society in Salalah, I had the honor to listen to her lecture about how to use the program. In a very clear way and with lots of examples she guided the sixteen women who attended the lecture through the program. Lecturing is not new for Amna. In two schools she explained the basics of photography to youngsters.
In the four year she photographs, in 2012, Amna won the second prize in the open theme category in the 19th Annual Photography Exhibition in Muscat. Out of 82 selected photographs, her work was selected. She sold the winning picture to somebody of Bait Al Zubair Museum. Amna participated in nine exhibitions in galleries in Oman.
In May, from the 4th till the 8th, four works of Amna will hang in the exhibition of the 1st Dhofar Competition of Photography organized by the Photography Society of Salalah. During the subscriptions of the contest, the Society received 356 pictures of 94 participants. Only 60 pictures of 35 photographers were chosen.
